The AdoptUsKids mission is to recruit and connect foster and adoptive families with children waiting for families throughout the United States.

Adopting.org provides information and resources for and about birth families, including; support, guidance, and insight. Forums offer insight from others in similar situations who are growing, healing, and searching.

Founded in 1974 by adoptive parents, the North American Council on Adoptable Children is committed to meeting the needs of waiting children and the families who adopt them.

The Adoption Exchange Association serves member organizations by stimulating innovative solutions, eliminating barriers, advocating, educating, and sharing excellent practice. Their primary goal is to assist and encourage AEA members as they focus on finding adoptive families for all children and youth who wait in foster care.

Adoption.com helps children find loving, permanent homes. They also provide useful information to pregnant women who are unsure whether or not they can provide for the newborn and child. They assist adoptees and birthparents in finding birthfamilies, as well as, help hopeful adoptive parents make adoption dreams come true. Adoption.com is especially committed to helping special needs children in the U.S. and around the world, who otherwise wouldn't be able to find loving families.

The Northwest Adoption Exchange has provided special needs adoption services since 1976 and helped find families for over 3,500 Northwest children since its inception. They connect thousands of families from all over the United States with workers for waiting children each year.

The Adoption Exchange recruits families for children who have survived abuse and neglect, supports adoptive families throughout every phase of the adoption process, and trains child welfare professionals. The Adoption Exchange maintains a national training presence, and connects children in eight member states CO, MO, NV, NM, OK, SD, UT and WY with American families living here and abroad.

The Adopt America Network is a non-profit committed to improving the lives of adoptable children throughout the United States who are in the foster care system by placing them with permanent, loving families.  AAN uses a national network of public agencies, private agencies, and volunteer adoption specialists.

This national nonprofit charitable organization recruits foster and adoptive families for special needs children who have been waiting the longest for a "forever" family. They have brought together more than 6,000 children and families since 1972.

The Need

There are 130,000 children in the U.S. foster care system eligible and waiting to be adopted. These children have lived through loss, neglect and abuse and it is not their fault. They wait an average of over 3 years to be adopted, with 19% - one out of every five, waiting, just waiting over five years for someone to love them.
